Deployment of the Perspective Plan of Action: During 2016 to 2021

The administration of the college including the Management and CDC take cognisance of the perspective plan for timely action in fulfilment of the planned objectives. The Principal appoints various committees, leads them and takes care that the vision and mission of the institute is achieved through working out the plan of action. The IQAC frames the long-term perspective plan and the short-term annual plans in consultation with the CDC to determine the priority of the planned measures. IQAC conducts four meetings every year to set objectives to be achieved and to take review of the deployment of the plan.

The perspective plan (2016 to 2025) has been framed by the institute. The following is a summary of the NAAC criterion-by-criterion report on the actions taken to implement this strategy throughout the third NAAC cycle, which runs from 2016 to 2021:

Criterion:  1. Curricular Aspects:

  • Various faculties represent as members on Board of Studies SRTM University Nanded, in different subjects, and played important role in framing syllabi of courses in their respective subjects. Dr. R. M. Bhise, Member BoS in Sociology, Dr. V. S. Mane Member BoS in Physical Education, Dr. M. R. Fegade Member BoS in Statistics, Mr. V. A. Jadhav Member BoS in Bio-Physics. One faculty member, Dr. D. U. Bhusare has worked with VNM Agriculture University Parbhani as member BoS in Food Microbiology.
  • New Certificate courses were designed by three departments in the academic year 2017-18. Department of Zoology introduced a Certificate Course in Sericulture, Department of Botany introduced a Certificate Course in Mushroom Cultivation, and Department of English introduced a Certificate Course in Enhancing Soft Skills and Personality.
  • Two new certificate courses were designed by two departments in the academic year 2020-21. Department of Microbiology introduced a Certificate Course in Lab Safety in Microbiology, and Department of Chemistry introduced a Certificate Course in Soil and Water Analysis.
  • Gandhi Study Centre is sanctioned to the college under epoch making social thinkers of India. The centre runs a certificate course in Gandhian Philosophy.
  • The SWYAM NPTEL Local Chapter at the college avails various NPTEL courses for students and faculties.

Criterion:  2. Teaching-Learning and Evaluation:

  • Faculties maintain record of their teaching-learning activities in Daily Teaching Report dairies; the departmental heads, the IQAC and the Principal supervise these reports regularly.
  • Increased use of ICT, various departments conducted 35 guest lectures, film displayed-02, surveys- 02, and study tours- 03 in the academic year 2016-17.
  • Centralized internal evaluation process is being implemented since the academic year 2017-18.
  • Data Entry Committee was formed for analysis of results.
  • Three excursion tours were organised by different departments in 2018-19.
  • The Mentor-Mentee scheme was implemented effectively since the academic year 2019-20; under this scheme the mentors (teachers) conduct meetings with mentees (students) allotted to them, to discuss and resolve their teaching-learning difficulties, and other issues related to academic, examinations, administrative office, and personal issues.
  • Extensive use of Zoom, Google Meet, and Google classrooms by faculties for online teaching-learning in 2020-21.
  • Various faculties of the college created their e-contents based on the University syllabi and for other certificate courses for online content delivery during pandemic situation.
  • A special Programme entitled the Country Wide Classroom Programme (CWCP) was initiated by IQAC. This innovative programme is conducted online; teachers from the college and other colleges conduct online lectures on the SRTM university syllabi, each session (module) comprise four quadrants. The recorded sessions are available to students on YouTube channel of the college. The CWCP was started on 07/02/2021

Criterion:  3. Research, Consultancy and Extension:

  • Increased numbers of research publications, faculties worked on editorial boards of various peer reviewed international journals.
  • NSS took initiative in tree plantation drive every year since 2016-17 to 2020-21
  • Different faculties published 28 research papers in reputed national/international journals in 2017-18.
  • The college registered as the Local Chapter of SWYAM NPTEL and avails various NPTEL courses for students and faculties.
  • Seven faculty members submitted proposals for minor research projects, MRPs were sanctioned to Mr. V. A. Jadhav, Dept. of Biophysics and Dr. J. V. Balkhande dept. of Zoology in 2017-18.
  • Two Minor Research Project proposals were submitted by faculty members in 2018-19. MRPs were sanctioned to Dr. D. U. Bhusare, dept. of Microbiology and Dr. A. B. Chavan, dept. of Zoology in 2019-20.

Criterion:  4. Infrastructure and Learning Resources:

  • INFLIBNET, N-List subscriptions are continued by the college library.
  • Management Information System (MIS) was initiated in the administrative office in 2016-17.
  • Augmentation of classroom furniture was done in 2018-19.
  • Regular maintenance of Science laboratories equipments.
  • Science laboratories equipments purchased as per demands of various departments and financial resources available.
  • Language Laboratory was established in  November2021

Criterion:  5. Student support and Progression:

  • Representation of students on various academic and administrative committees, regular constitution of Student Council.
  • Scholarships are awarded to students under various government schemes.
  • Competitive examination cell and placement cell conducted campus interviews in 2018-19. Thirteen students were selected by the industries invited for the camp.
  • A MoU was signed with MCED Nanded in 2018-19 to facilitate students for entrepreneurship development.
  • Alumni Association was registered on 12th February 2020.
  • Entrepreneurial Development Cell was formed in 2019-20.
  • Regular conduct of NSS camps, and participation of students in various social service drives, awareness programmes by NSS department.
  • Regular conduct of cultural activities by Cultural department, participation of our students in University Youth Festivals.

Criterion:  6. Governance, Leadership and Management:

  • The management including the Governing body, CDC, the Principal, IQAC ensures timely submission of all NAAC reports i.e. AQAR, NIRF report, analysis of CAS proposals, conduct of audits, submission of information demanded by various bodies like UGC, the affiliating university, Joint Director Higher education office,  etc.
  • The faculties participate in various Faculty Development Programmes organised by various academic staff colleges under HRDC for upgrading their knowledge and skills. The number of faculties undergoing various FDPs in 2016-17 was : RC-03, OP-06, FDP-02. In 2017-18 : RC-04, OP-08, FDP-01, Short Term-02. In 2018-19: RC-04, OP-03.In 2019-20 : RC-02, FDP-09, Short Term-01. In 2020-21 : RC-11, OP-01, FDP-09, Short Term-02
  • Seven faculties submitted CAS proposals in 2018-19.
  • The IQAC recommended going for Academic Audit in the year 2018-19.
  • Academic audit of the college was conducted by SRTM University Nanded on 30th January 2020. The college obtained ‘A’ grade in this academic audit.
  • The Principal of the college was rewarded with the Best Principal Award (Rural) by SRTM University Nanded (2017-18)
  • The college was rewarded with the Best College Award (Rural) by SRTM University Nanded (2018-19)
  • The first professor in the college, Dr. V. D. Hattekar, Head Dept. of Political Science was promoted as Professor by the committee appointed by the SRTM University Nanded in 2020-21.

Criterion:  7. Innovations and Best Practices:

  • Constituted a Gender Champion Club with two student members and one nodal teacher in 2016-17.
  • The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) was formed on 23rd January 2019. The ICC works for gender sensitization and resolving grievances of students and faculties regarding gender issues, ragging, etc.
  • The Science Expo is one of the best practices that the institute conducts regularly. This best practice is continued from 2014-15; in the pandemic affected year the 2020-21 it was conducted virtually. This mega event includes presentation of posters, working models, etc. by students.
  • The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and department of Marathi organized one day State Level Webinar on the topic Women in Abyss of Marathi Literature (Marathi Sahityachya Antarrangatil Stree) on 24/09/2020.for sensitizing students and teachers on gender related issues.
