Biophysics

Science Stream was started in 2011-12 with the aim to provide quality education to students of rural area to face the challenges of globalization & to emerge them.

The Biophysics department of the college was also established in the year 2011. This department started with temporary teaching staff for three years. Mr. Jadhav V.A. has been appointed as Assistant Professor & Head of the department on 11 August 2014 to till date .The Department is aiming to clear basic concepts and create interest in inter-disciplinary, Biophysics and its applications in our day to day life among students. As of Now department have centrifugation, Biomedical instrumentation, chromatographic setup and MOUs with different organization for theory and practical purposes.

Biophysics is an interdisciplinary science that applies approaches and methods traditionally used in physics to study biological phenomena. Biophysics covers all scales of biological organization, from molecular to organism and populations. Biophysical research shares significant overlap with biochemistry, molecular biology, physical, chemistry, physiology, nanotechnology, bioengineering, computational biology, biomechanics, developmental biology and systems biology.

The term biophysics is also regularly used in academia to indicate the study of the physical quantities (e.g. electric current, temperature, stress, entropy) in biological systems. Other biological sciences also perform research on the biophysical properties of living organisms including molecular biology, cell biology, chemical biology, and biochemistry.
