About National Service Scheme (NSS)
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the students of Graduate level at colleges to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service. It also provides unique opportunities to the volunteers for group living, collective experience sharing, sharing responsibilities, addressing various developmental issues of regional and national importance and constant interaction with the community.
Our College sanctioned 175 Volunteers among them 100 Boys and 75 Girls can register their name in National Service Scheme.
NSS Programmes
National Service Scheme has two types of programmes – Regular Activities and Annual Special Camp Programmes. Students enrolled as NSS Volunteers are expected to work in the scheme for a period of two years continually and also participate in Annual special camp of 07 days’ duration.
Regular Activities
NSS volunteers undertake various activities in campus and adopted village for community service. NSS Volunteers must work 240 hours in two years i.e. 40 hours for orientation of NSS volunteers, 60 hours for campus work and 140 hours for community service. After successfully completion of 2 years, participation in NSS annual special camp and blood donation will get benefit of 10 marks in third year.

Annual special camp of seven days’ duration in adopted village arrange in between Dec- Feb.

The NSS Badge Proud to Serve the Nation
All the youth volunteers who opt to serve the nation through the NSS led community service wear the NSS badge with pride and a sense of responsibility towards helping needy.
The Konark wheel in the NSS badge having 8 bars signifies the 24 hours of the day, reminding the wearer to be ready for the service of the nation round the clock i.e. for 24 hours.
Red colour in the badge signifies energy and spirit displayed by the NSS volunteers.
The Blue colour signifies the cosmos of which the NSS is a tiny part, ready to contribute its share for the welfare of the mankind.
